Who's In Your Inner Circle?

Hi Darling,

This entrepreneurial journey wouldn't be the same without the women (and men) who have encouraged me along the way. This weekend I was reminded of that while we were away in the English countryside attending a retreat one of our dear friends started about 6 years ago.

The first Shift retreat hosted around 30 people. This weekend, they reached their location limit and sold-out with 350 attendees! This was once a dream for our friend Caleb and now he's gathering so many people in their 20s and 30s from around the UK to take time to breath and refocus so they can go out and make an impact on the world.

I was so inspired by Caleb but also reminded me how much has changed since my husband and I started attending Shift three years ago! I'd just left my 9-5 and was doing a bit of freelancing on the side while trying to start my own online business...while also volunteering at my church and still trying to be a good wife/friend/daughter/sister. I was juggling so much!

I couldn't have done it without the support of the people around me. (I know Caleb would say the same about Shift!)

The reality is that your community can make or break you. So be picky about who you let in. I'm not telling you to stop making new friends but place people around you who believe in you and will champion you on.

Here's why you NEED to have a strong community around you...

1. HIGH VIBES ONLY

It's been almost a year since I've been masterminding with a group of ambitious women in business. They bring so much joy, knowledge, and support into my life! A conversation or message from these ladies can turn a bad day into a great day.

The best things is having client coaching calls after talking to these #bossbabes because they fill me with high vibes that transfer over into my sessions.

Side note, to keep with the high vibes, you're going to need to say "good-bye" to any Debby downers in your life. You have a big mission to accomplish and the less emotional baggage you can carry, the better.

2. SISTERS ON YOUR SIDE

On this journey, not everyone is going to support you. I've talked with a lot of women who have family members, husbands, or best friends who just don't understand what they're doing. It's okay if they don't get it.

Not everyone is wired like an entrepreneur but it sucks when the people you love the most don't know how to support you. Your biz besties are there to lift you up and champion you on because they get your crazy dreams! They're in your corner and believe whole heartedly that you have what it takes to create a stellar online business.

3. COMMUNITY OF EXPERTS

My mastermind sisters are all experts in different areas of business. Some are great at content creation, sales funnels, social media, Facebook Ads, etc.. Having a wide range of expertise in our group gives me experts to turn to who can support me in my business. They're also my go-to's when it comes to featuring guest experts in my programs. I can help spread the word about their biz and they can help build mine.

4. CELEBRATE TOGETHER

My husband is one of my biggest cheerleaders! I can't thank him enough for believing in the work I do and being part of this wild ride but he doesn't always understand why I get excited about certain things. That's when my wonderful community steps in!

My mastermind sisters (and occasionally my closest friends) will step in and celebrate wins with me! Celebrating your success, even the small ones, are essential to seeing the good in everything you do!

5. THEY CHALLENGE YOU

I can't tell you how many times I've ugly cried in front of a mastermind sister only to get an encouraging response and incredible solutions! They always have refreshing perspectives and challenge me to try new strategies. They get what it's like to take a risk.

If they can do it, so can I!

I'm wondering, who's in your inner circle?

Having friends in your industry to lean will help you feel supported as a business owner. So consider this, is there anyone you need to let go of? Do you need to be on the hunt for new biz besties? What about locally? Who's there to cheer you on?

To community,

Beth xo
