5 tips to doing business by the beach!

Hi Darling,

I'm baaack and missing sunny Panama but my heart is so full! I'm crazy thankful for my time there, the memories my family made, and the relationships I built while in the city.

For the last two years, it's been a struggle to get my family in the same place so this trip was really special for us. We can't wait to do it again next year!

Going to Panama was also a great chance to get inspired to dream even bigger. I was able to connect with amazing business people who encouraged and pushed me to chase a business and life better than my dreams!

I'm excited to be back and focused on my business and clients before my next adventure in a few weeks.

During our trip, we stayed in Casco Viejo, a beautiful old area of Panama City that's full of gorgeous old Spanish architecture. It was cool to see the contrast of both the modern and old buildings right next to each other.

My camera roll is full of pictures from Panama and I couldn't wait to share them with you, Darling! Here are a few of my favorites...

Panama was so much fun but I wanted to share something I don't see many coaches talking about with their community. The truth is, traveling while you work can be tough. Having a laptop lifestyle is exciting but it can be challenging to balance work and play.

Today, I'm sharing my top 5 tips that'll help you prepare for your next trip so you can stay on top of your business while you're away enjoying a new destination...

1. PLAN AHEAD

I'm not suggesting you plan out every single detail but figure out what you're doing while you're away. Get a rough schedule together so you can plan work time and meetings in advance.

Also (and this is key), I always make sure that I know if I'll have internet access so I can plan the type of work I can do while on holiday.

2. TURN ON YOUR "OUT OF OFFICE" EMAIL RESPONDER

I'll be honest, I usually forget to do this but I encourage you to turn on your "out of office" email responder. It's crucial that potential clients getting in touch with you, be told there will be a delay in your response time.

You're entitled to a fun break, just make sure your clients know that your business is running a little slower while you're off the grid.

3. MAKE A BETTER GAME PLAN ONCE YOU ARRIVE

If you're like me, you don't usually know travel details until you arrive to your destination. I usually have a rough schedule and once I arrive am able to plan a more detailed schedule. Try to get information as soon as you get there. I haven't always been a planner but having a schedule creates room for freedom.

4. BE SPONTANEOUS

Planning is important and frees up time for you to do what you want. I encourage you to make space for the unexpected and leave work to the side when an amazing opportunity arises. You'll regret not going to the beach with your other half or missing the chance to ride a Vespa in Rome.

Be available for extraordinary opportunities even if that means moving your schedule around a bit. Work can wait.

5. GET INSPIRED AND REST

Don't work yourself sick, instead, enjoy your time away. You are traveling to savor a new destination so plan time to explore, get inspired, and most importantly…rest.

Darling, working while you travel doesn't have to be hard. You just need to find a system that works for you.

With these tips, you're all set for you next adventure while you run your online business from your laptop!

To balancing your laptop lifestyle,

Beth xo

P.S. Darling, what's your dream destination?
